Setúbal in a day, from Lisbon
The most honest route for anyone leaving Lisbon in the morning and back by evening. Market, choco, castle, an afternoon on the Arrábida. The Fertagus train is the cleanest way in.

Walk up to São Filipe Castle
Visit15–20 min uphill on foot (steep) or a 5-minute taxi. Free entry to courtyard and chapel. Wide view over the bay and Tróia across the estuary.

LunchWalk back down to Av. Luísa Todi and eat the city's dish. Casa Santiago if you want the cathedral; any tasca near the market serves it well.

Afternoon on the Arrábida
OutdoorsBus 762 (summer) or a ~15-min taxi to Galapos or Figueirinha. On a cool day, walk up to Convento da Arrábida instead.
